Community is key in Dacono. The small-town feel of this small city brings people together. It's one of the reasons why so many events are held where neighbors can gather and enjoy time with one another. It's a welcoming place with plenty to explore. 

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Casa Cortes Family Mexican Restaurant is a favored establishment in the area. Chorizo con queso, guacamole salad, Mexican pizza, quesadillas, tacos, burritos, and more fill the menu. Traditional dessert choices such as flan, sopapillas, and churros are popular selections, although some unique creations are also available, like the mango mousse cake.
 
E.L.F. Grill is another popular dining choice. The "Everyone Loves Food" moniker is enjoyed by many in the area. Breakfast is served all day at this location, or you can enjoy dinner and a drink. Hot chocolate, strawberry lemonade, and a Shirley Temple are a few favored non-alcoholic selections, while beer, various hard liquor choices, wine, and specialty cocktails fill the adult beverage menu. Traditional American cuisine and comfort foods are served here.
 
The well-loved Daylight Donuts of Dacono is also a great choice if you want to sit and enjoy a morning coffee or pick up a sweet treat. They make their own brand of coffee and offer additional meal choices, such as biscuits and gravy, baked sandwiches, sausage rolls, and smoothies. You can even pick up a special treat for your dog. 
 
Many patrons go to nearby Thornton to shop at the Denver Premium Outlets. The well-manicured outlet mall has numerous upscale stores and restaurants. A playground sits outside to keep kids occupied and offers a unique walking area. There's a food court inside as well. It's one of the best malls in Colorado.

Things to Do

The Dacono Music & Spirits Festival takes place in August. Make your way to Centennial Field to enjoy drinks and live music. Over a dozen local businesses come together to sponsor the event. Also popular is the Carbon Valley Holiday Festival, which arrives in December. It's a great way to kick off the holiday season. With a separate concert and movie summer series and other events like National Night Out, there is plenty to keep you busy year-round. 
 
Visit Dacono Memorial Park to explore the area. There's a wall dedicated to veterans with dozens of names included. It's a beautiful place to enjoy peace and quiet with a nearby walking trail.
 
Clem Dufour Park is ideal in the summer. The provided splash pad is an easy way to keep cool. Picnic tables give you a place to sit and enjoy a snack, or the nearby green space can be utilized for other outdoor activities. David H. Osborne Park is also a well-kept space when you want to enjoy time outside.

The Colorado National Speedway is one of the biggest draws of the city. This racing track spans almost one mile and hosts various NASCAR races throughout the year. They host the All-Whelen series, and you can purchase tickets in advance or at the box office.
